Necsa’s Radiation Protection Technician (RPT) invites applicants to apply for the Radiation Protection Learnership Programme based in Pretoria. Requirements
  • Age: 18 – 35 years
  • Minimum qualification: Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Science
  • South African citizen

Required documents to upload (all certified copies, not older than 6 months):

  • RSA Identity Document
  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Proof of residence
  • Personal and qualification details

Shortlisted candidates will be required to write an aptitude assessment test.

After successful completion, you will be able to:
  1. Communicate about radiation and contamination hazards and basic radiation protection measures.
  2. Explain workplace radiation and contamination monitoring.
  3. Select appropriate monitoring equipment based on type, purpose, and location.
  4. Perform radiation and contamination monitoring according to specified requirements.
  5. Adhere to prescribed radiation protection procedures.
  6. Manage workplace relationships for optimal productivity.

  • Basic radiation protection principles
  • Operation of radiation and contamination monitoring equipment
  • Factors affecting measurement accuracy
  • Regulatory requirements for radiological surveillance
