SAFCOL 2026 Learnership for Unemployed Youth (18–35)

SAFCOL invites unemployed South African youth aged between 18 and 35 who are passionate about Forestry to apply for the 2026 Learnership Programmes in Mechanised Harvesting (NQF Level 3), General Education and Training Certificate (GETC) in Forestry (NQF Level 1), and Forestry Silviculture (NQF Level 3). These structured ten-month programmes are designed to develop essential forestry skills, provide industry experience, and create opportunities for future employment or the establishment of Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (SMMEs) within the Forestry Sector.
Each learnership offers both accredited theoretical training and practical workplace experience at the SAFCOL Training Centre (Platorand), located in Sabie, Mpumalanga Province. Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend for the duration of the programme and, upon completion, will obtain a nationally recognised qualification at the relevant NQF level. Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged youth and individuals from communities that have signed a Social Compact with SAFCOL.
SAFCOL LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME 2026
- Mechanised Harvesting (NQF Level 3)
- GETC in Forestry (NQF Level 1)
- Forestry Silviculture (NQF Level 3)
All 3 positions include:
- Monthly stipend
- 10 months duration
- Based at Platorand Training Centre, Sabie, Mpumalanga

Applicants must be South African citizens, unemployed, and in possession of a Matric Certificate or Statement of Results. Interested individuals are required to submit a completed SAFCOL Learnership Application Form, together with a Curriculum Vitae (CV) and certified copies of their ID and Matric Certificate. 1. MECHANISED HARVESTING (NQF LEVEL 3)
SAFCOL invites unemployed youth aged between 18–35 who are passionate and wish to pursue a career in Forestry to apply for a formal and structured ten (10) months Mechanised Harvesting (NQF LEVEL 3) 2026 Learnership Programme aimed at developing foundational skills and career opportunities and/or set up own Small, Micro and Medium Enterprise (SMME) within the Forestry Sector.
The programme will consist of the following:
- Accredited theory in Forestry at NQF Level 3
- Practical training
