MQA: Internship Programme 2025/2027

The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) invites unemployed South African citizens who have never participated in an internship programme to apply for its 24-month Internship Programme. This programme provides practical workplace experience and mentorship across various units, including Quality Assurance, Skills Development and Research, Communication, and Learning Programmes Strategic Projects. The aim of the programme is to equip graduates with relevant skills and knowledge to enhance their employability in the mining and minerals sector. Position: Quality Assurance Intern
Duration: Two-Year Programme
Monthly Stipend: R 9,306.18

The MQA invites qualifying individuals to apply for an internship opportunity within its Quality Assurance Unit. Unemployed individuals who have never participated in an internship programme are invited to apply. The successful intern will be appointed for a period of twenty-four (24) months. This opportunity is available to South African Citizens only.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager: Quality Assurance, the successful candidate will be exposed to:

  • Quality Assurance Partner
  • Development Quality Partner
  • Assessment Quality Partner
  • Identify and conduct Workplace Approvals (WPA)
  • Quality Assurance monitoring and assessment process
  • Learner Management System and records database
  • Learner certification
  • Quality Management System and document control
  • Performing any other tasks delegated by the Senior Manager: Quality Assurance and the Managers: Quality Assurance in the Quality Assurance Unit
Minimum Requirements
  • A grade 12 or Matric certificate
  • National Diploma in Human Resources Development/Management or Administration at NQF Level 6
  • A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent (NQF Level 7 qualification in the above-mentioned fields) will be an added advantage

Unemployed individuals who have never participated in an internship programme are invited to apply. This opportunity is only available for South African Citizens. The successful intern will be appointed for a period of twenty-four (24) months.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Manager: Skills Development and Research, the successful candidate will be exposed to:

  • Workplace Skills Plans (WSPs) and Annual Training Reports (ATRs) submission process
  • Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) and Organisation registration process
  • Conduct primary and secondary research
  • Liaise with MQA stakeholders and resolve customer queries
  • Report writing and presentations
  • General administration
Minimum Requirements
  • National Diploma in Social Sciences, Commerce, or Human Resources with Economics and/or Statistics or equivalent qualification at NQF Level 6
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Commerce, or Human Resources with Economics and/or Statistics, or equivalent qualification at NQF Level 7 will be an added advantage

  • Events planning, coordination, and reporting (forums, conferences, workshops, staff events, etc.)
  • Brand management of the MQA’s corporate identity
  • Publications (brochures, newsletters, annual report, internal communiques, etc.)
  • Media relations activities
  • Social media content creation
  • Intranet and website content management
  • Career exhibitions and related events
  • Management and updating of the stakeholder database
  • Providing customer service through the Customer Relationship Management system
  • Frontline management through providing support to reception
  • General administrative tasks
Minimum Requirements
  • A grade 12 or Matric certificate

Position: Learning Programmes Strategic Projects Intern
Duration: Two-Year Programme

Unemployed individuals who have never participated in an internship programme are invited to apply. This opportunity is only available for South African Citizens. The successful intern will be appointed for a period of twenty-four (24) months.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Manager: Learning Programmes, the successful candidate will be exposed to:

  • Assist with administration in relation to projects in the Learning Programmes
  • Register learning programmes agreements for all projects
  • Provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders in accordance with MQA’s customer service standards
  • Organise events including meetings and workshops for the Learning Programmes Unit
  • Liaise and maintain relationships with various MQA stakeholders
  • Assist with travel arrangements for the Learning Programmes Unit
  • Assist with filing and document control
  • Provide administrative support service to the Learning Programmes Unit as and when needed
  • Perform any other tasks delegated by the Learning Programmes Manager/Learning Programmes Officer/Learning Programmes Administrator
Minimum Requirements
