The Department of Employment and Labour (Compensation Fund) invites South African unemployed graduates to apply for the 2025 to 2027 internship programme. The internship provides work exposure related to qualifications for a period of twenty-four (24) months from the date of appointment. Applicants must be unemployed and never have participated in any internship programme previously.
Applications quoting the relevant reference number must be submitted through the addresses listed above or the correct email address associated with the post. Applicants are not required to submit copies of qualifications or other relevant documents with applications. Only an updated comprehensive CV and a completed, initialled, and signed new Z83 application form are required, obtainable from any Public Service Department or at www.gov.za/documents. Applications using the old Z83 form will not be considered. Each advertised post must be accompanied by its own fully completed, initialled, and signed Z83 form. Failure to complete all fields in Sections A, B, C, and D of the Z83 will lead to disqualification. Sections E, F, and G may refer to the CV or indicate “see attached,” but the question regarding conditions preventing re-appointment under Part F must be answered.
An affidavit confirming non-participation in a similar programme is required during the interview stage. Non-RSA citizens or permanent resident permit holders with foreign qualifications must provide an evaluation report issued by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA) when shortlisted. Online applications must include a Z83 form and CV only, in PDF format as a single document, with the correct job title and reference number in the email subject line.
Non-compliant applications will not be considered. Due to the expected high volume of applications, receipt will not be acknowledged. If you have not been contacted within eight (8) weeks after the closing date, please accept that your application was unsuccessful. Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit qualifications and supporting documents before the interview.
Successful candidates will undergo personnel suitability checks (criminal record, citizenship, credit record, qualification verification, and employment verification). Applicants must declare any pending criminal, disciplinary, or other allegations/investigations against them. Failure to disclose such matters during or after the interview may result in disqualification or termination if appointed. Successful candidates will be appointed subject to positive security screening results. All applicants must declare any conflict or perceived conflict of interest and disclose memberships of boards or directorships.
