Requirements:

  • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or any equivalent and relevant qualification.
  • Good Communication Skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Planning, scheduling, and coordinating EEDSM project activities.
  • Collecting and analyzing data related to energy consumption and efficiency.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of innovative solutions to improve energy efficiency.
  • Supporting the preparation of technical specifications for energy-efficient equipment.
  • Preparing detailed reports summarizing findings, recommendations, and projected savings.
  • Coordinating with contractors, vendors, and municipal staff to ensure project alignment and progress.
  • Receiving instructions from the immediate superior on the layout and execution of specific work sequences.
  • Operating handheld equipment (e.g., Jack-Hammer) to cut through concrete/tarred surfaces.
  • Laying cables, positioning supporting structures (poles), cleaning and tinning of conductors, binding and strapping, and stripping individual conductors.
  • Attending to the erection and installation of poles, cross waves, stays, lines, aerial transformers, switchgear, etc., using handheld power tools to drill and mount junction boxes, brackets, cable trays, racks, etc., and tightening screws and bolts.
  • Terminating cables, wires, etc., to junction boxes, connecting blocks, and/or terminals, including soldering, fitting of lugs, and harnessing wires.
