The Transport Education Training Authority (TETA) invites qualifying unemployed learners to apply for bursaries for the 2026 academic year. The Transport Education Training Authority (TETA) invites qualifying unemployed learners to apply for bursaries for the 2026 academic year.

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

  • Learners currently in Grade 12 or who completed matric intending to study qualifications selected for the 2026 intake (see qualification list below).
  • Currently registered students at universities and colleges and who require funding for the 2026 academic year
  • Aviation students with valid SPL, PPL or CPL.
  • Commercial divers with matric (Senior Certificate).

Applicants must be studying or intending to study at a University (Public and Accredited Private Institutions), University of Technology, and either Public and Private Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges. This includes Accredited Aviation and Diving Schools.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DOES THE TETA BURSARY FUND?
Qualifications funded through the TETA bursary are dictated by emerging industry needs, hence they change from time to time.

  1. (N4-N6) or ND or B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  2. (N4-N6) or ND or B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  3. (N4-N6) or ND or B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree Financial Management
  4. (N4-N6) or ND or B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Business Management or Administration
  5. National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Logistics Management
  6. National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Road Transport Management
  7. National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Supply Chain Management including Warehouse, Storage and Distribution
  8. National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Transportation Management
  9. National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Transport Economics
  10. National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Information and Communication Technology
  11. National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Risk Management
  12. National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma, B Degree or Honours Degree in Operations Management
  13. National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Health and Safety Management

  15. Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Environmental Health or Bachelor of Environmental Management
  16. National Certificate in Freight Forwarding and Customs Compliance
  17. Post Graduate Diploma in Cybersecurity
  18. Postgraduate Diploma in Artificial Intelligence
  19. Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Environmental Health or Bachelor of Environmental Management
  20. National Certificate in Freight Forwarding and Customs Compliance
  21. Post Graduate Diploma in Cybersecurity
  22. Diploma in Mechatronics
  23. Postgraduate Diploma in Sustainable Development
  24. BSc / BCom in Environmental Science or Environmental Studies

  40. CPL with ATPL Subjects (Frozen ATPL)

  • Applicants must be South African citizens and Permanent Resident.
  • Applicants for the aforementioned qualifications may be preferred.
