The 2025 Coega Internships Programme is a strategic initiative designed to empower young graduates and bridge the critical transition between academic qualifications and professional employment. This 24-month internship program offers hands-on work experience, mentorship, and career development opportunities within the dynamic Coega Development Corporation, a key driver of economic growth and industrial development in South Africa.

The programme aims to address the challenge of youth unemployment by equipping interns with practical skills and workplace exposure that complement their theoretical knowledge. By fostering a supportive work environment with structured learning and coaching, Coega ensures that future professionals are ready to contribute effectively to their industries and communities.

Purpose:
The internship aims to provide qualified graduates with work exposure by bridging the gap between academic study and the workplace over 24 months. Interns will receive mentoring and coaching.

Business Units, Locations & Qualifications:

Operations (Gqeberha):

  • National Diploma in Security Management
  • National Diploma in Policing
  • National Diploma in Town Planning
  • National Diploma in Geographical Information Systems

Business Development (Gqeberha):

  • National Diploma in Process, Chemical and Electrical Engineering
  • National Diploma in Energy Management
  • National Diploma in Industrial Engineering

ICT, Research and Strategy (Gqeberha):

  • National Diploma in Software Development

Qualifications accepted include Diploma (NQF Level 6), Degree (NQF Level 7), and Honours Degree (NQF Level 8).

Requirements:

  • Young, vibrant, energetic person
  • Virtuous habits and strong work ethos
  • Must not be older than 35 years
  • No prior work experience in the field of study
