Johannesburg City Parks & Zoo: EPWP Youth Graduate Work

Johannesburg City Parks & Zoo, together with the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE), is inviting South African unemployed youth graduates aged 18-35 to apply for the EPWP Youth Graduate Work Programme, which will run for four (4) months.

Daily stipend: R247,50

Minimum entry requirements:

  • M + 3 (Matric plus 3 years of study) (Qualification with 360 credits or Diploma NQF 6).
  • Youth between 18 – 35 years of age, people with disability are encouraged to apply.

POSITIONS: Animal Attendant

SUMMARY OF ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Cleaning animal enclosures, feeding animals, monitoring observing animal behaviour, paperwork, environmental education and awareness.

Ecotourism and Community Engagement: Sustainable tourism, community liaison,
stakeholder engagement.
Research and Development: Research assistance, Environmental Management Plans, veld condition assessments and GIS.
