Salary: A stipend of R8 807.65 will be paid per month.

Duration: 1 year contract

Intern: Industrial Psychology

The purpose of the internship programme is to offer university graduates, who have successfully completed their M1 (Coursework) in Industrial Organisational Psychology, the opportunity to obtain practical workplace exposure and experience in the Industrial Psychology discipline for the purposes of registering as an Industrial Psychologist with the HPCSA. This opportunity is only available to South African Citizens or permanent residents.

• A detailed curriculum vitae (CV).
• Certified copies (not older than 6 months) of all academic records; or confirmation of M1 (Course work) completion.
• Certified copies (not older than 6 months) of qualifications.
• A certified copy (not older than 6 months) of your identity document (ID).
• Proof of registration with the HPCSA as a Student Psychologist.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Perform duties as stipulated in the 12-month IOP internship programme (Need to be Approved by the HPCSA)
• The areas to be covered will include:
o Career Psychology and Employee Well-Being
o Organisational Behaviour
o Human Resources (Personnel) Psychology
o Psychometrics (Testing and Assessments)
o Elective
o Professional Development Activities and Supervision
o Professional Ethics

Inherent requirements:

• Successful completion of Masters coursework (M1)
• Registration with the HPCSA as a Student in Psychology
• Not studying full time, classes preferably after hours.

o Proficient in MS Office.
o Good understanding of the theory and application of industrial psychology.

o The ability to be cooperative with others, display a good-natured attitude and encourage people to work together.

o The ability to be sensitive and understanding to the needs and feelings of others.

The following criteria apply to the selection of candidates:

Willing to sign an internship agreement with the UFS.
The candidate must be available for a period of twelve (12) months.
