Position: Engineering Graduates
Department: Engineering
Reporting to: Engineering Manager
Location: Boksburg (GP), Piet Retief (MP), and Ugie (EC)

Main functions will include but is not limited to:
Production Support
- Assist with daily manufacturing operations.
- Support the production team with testing and evaluating production processes to achieve stable results.
- Assist in collecting and analysing data to identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Assist in planning new or modified production process.
Quality Assurance & Product Development
- Participate in quality control inspections and testing.
- Participate in the analysis of product defects and non-conformities.
- Collaborate with the quality management team to support product innovation and trials.
- Participate in reviewing and developing quality control plans for maintenance or projects.
Technical Reporting & Data Analysis
- Collect and analyse operational data to inform decisions.
- Assist with troubleshooting and technical analyses on manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Assist with engineering documentation and technical reporting.
- Use digital tools to track and report key manufacturing metrics.
Maintenance & Equipment Efficiency
- Support maintenance teams with equipment monitoring and basic troubleshooting.
- Participates in root cause analysis initiatives.
- Participate in statutory machinery inspections.
- Contribute to preventative maintenance planning and recordkeeping.
- Learn to design and improve equipment and machines to ensure efficiency and reliability.
- Gain physical installation of machinery knowledge and skill under guidance.
Health & Safety
- Participate in risk surveying and risk assessments.
- Attend monthly safety meetings.
Team Collaboration & Professional Development
- Engage with cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, and Engineering.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for management.
- Manage different engineering or production projects.
- Demonstrate continuous learning and a proactive approach to development.
- Attend training sessions, workshops, and team briefings.
Minimum qualifications and experience:
- BSc/BEng in Wood Product Science, or Engineering
- BSc/Beng (Chemical Engineering)
- BTech in Operations Management or Engineering
Recommended skills, knowledge and qualities:
- Understanding of engineering fundamentals in manufacturing environments.
- Ability to understand and apply general concepts to specific, company applicable conditions.
- Knowledge of wood materials, processing, chemicals, and product properties.
- Basic familiarity with production equipment, process flow, and plant operations.
- Eagerness to learn – open to feedback and continuous development.
- problem-solving mindset – curious, analytical, and solutions-focused.
- Attention to detail – strong observational and documentation skills.
